In Honor of Chef Sultan
Sultan is not just a place to dine; it's a tribute to a man who left a mark on the culinary world and the lives of those he touched — Chef Sultan.
Sultan, born in 1954 in the beautiful country of Turkey, was a culinary visionary and a risk-taker in all of the best ways. In 1997, he embarked on a journey across the seas to bring his passion for Mediterranean cuisine to America. Little did he know that his love for food and people would create a lasting legacy that continues to flourish today.
In 2002, Sultan took a leap of faith and opened his first restaurant in Redwood City, California. It wasn't just a business; it was a family affair. The entire family, including the kids who eagerly pitched in after school, worked together to ensure every guest felt like family. For Sultan, customer service was everything - a philosophy rooted in his love for people.
Sultan was a generous soul who believed in the power of community and friendship. He constantly sought ways to connect with others and give back, building bridges that stretched far beyond the confines of his restaurant. His infectious laughter and warm smile welcomed patrons from all walks of life.
A Legacy That Lives On
When our beloved Chef Sultan passed away, his absence left a void that could never truly be filled. However, it also ignited a desire to keep his memory alive. It was this enduring love and admiration for his father that inspired Ibrahim to open "Sultan" in September of 2023.
Nearly every main dish we serve at Sultan is crafted from original recipes - a true testament to the timeless appeal of Chef Sultan's creations.
